Rheum palmatum Tanguticum Chinese Rhubarb

Huge dissected leaves are crimson-purple while young then change to copper-green. In midsummer a towering flower spike bearing flowers in shades of pink and red appears; good for cut flowers. A cousin to Rhubarb, but this plant is harmful if ingested! Prefers a moist site.
