Dicentra canadensis Squirrel Corn

White heart shaped flowers rise above the foliage on arching stalks. Flowers may be Greenish, or have a Mauve tinge. The root tubers resemble corn kernels, hence the name.  Will go dormant in early summer. Very similar to Dicentra cucullaria (Dutchman's Breeches). All parts of this plant are toxic, please don't eat it.
