Corylus americana American Hazelnut

Male flowers are brown decorative catkins before the leaves appear, and female flowers are small and red. Edible fruit emerges white, turning brown in summer. Textured green leaves, with yellow, orange and red fall colour. Requires moist, well drained soil, and may need suckers removed. Tolerant of soils with high pH.
