Grasses

Ornamental grasses are absolutely magical in the late afternoon sun. Site them so they are backlit for dramatic effect! Leave the stronger ones standing for the winter. They provide super habitat for small creatures. For instance, Carex pensylvancia can host 36 species of caterpillars. Those are critical food for our birds!
